I promised I would share some of the triplets session…so I am making good on my word. I have so many favorites, I had a hard time choosing what to blog so I am just going a little overboard. These babies were the sweetest little boys and SO good for their session! Thank goodness for 2 great assistants who helped to make my job and this shoot go a lot smoother, I couldn’t have done it without them!
Blake, Wyatt and Aiden were all born just shy of 34 weeks. They had a short stay in the NICU but really did so well and were all home within a couple of weeks. What an accomplishment! All 3 of them were right around 6 lbs at 4 weeks when they had their session with me. I can’t wait to see them again at their 6 month session….they are Baby Planners so I will be watching them grow and documenting their first year. So exciting.
Thanks for visiting and leave some love for the proud Mama and Daddy
I recently snuggled with this sweet little boy. Mama and Daddy are very close friends of ours and I was so delighted to be able to spend some time with him and capture his brand new sweetness. Just wanted to share. Leave some love for mama and daddy to see!
This past July I traveled to my home town and did two different nights of mini sessions. It was SO much fun! I saw old high school friends and met their beautiful children and also met some new people as well. It was hot hot hot…but so worth it. The kids were all so sweet and well behaved….and just….well….beautiful. Take a look for yourself.
P.S. If you are interested in FALL Mini Sessions…please take a look at the session details. This is an awesome deal, and I only offer them (locally) once a year. Only a couple spots left, they are booking fast.
The love in this family is phenomenal. It was obvious and so refreshing to see. Big brother is a sweetheart, Mom is down to earth and Dad is so proud of his family and baby to be!
I was so excited when Jen from JenJen Bowtique wanted to do a contest with me. Last summer I worked with Jen by photographing her products (on some beautiful models ) for the unveiling of her new website. Jen creates all of her hairbows and headbands for your sweet girl and sells them at an awesome price…and the quality is amazing!
Here are some photos as examples of what JenJen Bowtique offer:
Jen offers not only hairbows and headbands for your big girls….but for your little girls too
As you can see…JenJen Bowtique offers a little bit of everything for your little princess!

Hi there. *shyly ducking my head* Remember me? I’m an old friend. We used to talk, share, hang out….all that. I’ve been a terrible friend…and I am so very sorry. *shrugs* You see, the past few months have been insane for me and I wasn’t prepared. Things have settled down now a little and I’ve had the chance to take a step back, take a (very) deep breath and just take a look around. I’ve noticed some things that were missing, and it has been all my fault. You were one of the things I’ve missed and I promise, I’m going to try and make it up to you. Can we be friends again, please? *pleading look in eyes*
We can? *big smile* Thank you, you’re awesome!
I’m back. Business was BOOMING this past fall and I am so incredibly thankful. I truly am thankful for each and every one of my clients…past, present and future. They have been so instrumental in helping me grow and their support is priceless. To all of you…thank you so much for making 2010 a fantastic year! This year will be a bit more structured, and I will be scheduling much sooner to ease the stress and rush of last minute sessions and orders. I was a complete stress ball throughout the month of December and I do not want to do *that* again I need my sanity, hehehe
2011 is looking up to be an amazing year. I have a lot of exciting things happening in the next couple of months in my personal and professional life and I can’t wait to share!
For now, I’m going to share a session that I did of one of my favorite families. Love this family and the girls are so special, happy and beautiful! I hope to get caught up soon on my blogging, I have so many sessions to share!
I do share recent work on Chixie and Honey’s facebook page. Are you a fan?
A couple of weeks ago I spent a few hours with Ali and her mom, having fun and creating some senior pictures for her.
I had SO. MUCH. FUN. I haven’t done many seniors in the past, have felt it best to concentrate mostly on babies and children…it is what I know, what I am most comfortable with. I decided to step out of my comfort zone when Ali’s mom contacted me and I am so glad I did. I really think I love photographing seniors just as much as I adore photographing those sweet little newbies. So…if you are in need of senior photos, please contact Tara at chixieandhoney@hotmail.com
Ali and Melissa, thank you so much for trusting me and going along with my visison! I hope you are as thrilled as I am.
Ali, you are such a beautiful and SWEET girl. I so enjoyed getting to know you and thank you so much for making my job so easy.
A week and a half ago, I got a voicemail from Stephanie, who was just slightly overdue with baby Ethan, calmly stating that her water just broke. I excitedly ran out to Justin, informing him that I would be leaving soon, to photograph the birth of Stephanie and Mike’s third child. We began to make plans and arrangements for the children, in case I was not to be back home yet in the morning by the time it was ready to get Ava on the bus.
I called Stephanie back and spoke with Mike, her husband who said nothing much was happening and he would let me know when they were headed to the hospital. So I hung up, laid clothes out, gathered camera gear, and anxiously paced the floors.
Eventually I went to bed, but could hardly sleep, just knowing my phone would ring any second.
I woke the next morning at 7 panicked thinking I missed the birth, or God forbid, something was wrong and text-ed Stephanie…who promptly replied that labor had stalled and they would be starting pitocin soon. I was so relieved to hear that everything was okay but a bit anxious for her to get the ball rolling, I mean seriously! (totally KIDDING here )
Finally around 2:30 that afternoon I got the call to come. I quietly took photos of Stephanie laboring, who–by the way–is amazing. She not once had any pain medication and bore right through those pitocin contractions like a champion, so proud of her! I helped when I was needed but I mostly tried to stay out of the way. Stephanie’s husband Mike, his sister, and a doula all helped Steph when needed. It was such a nice, quiet, intimate birth and everything about it was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful and awe-some. I feel so privileged for being invited to record those moments. Baby Ethan was born just before 6 pm, almost 25 hours after Stephanie’s water broke. He was perfect in every way.
Stephanie and Mike…thank you so much and God Bless you!
