I was contacted my Lindsay in the spring last year…she was newly pregnant with triplets and so eager to book her maternity and newborn photos! I was so excited and honored to be chosen to document this special time in their lives. In late November, when Lindsay was around 30 weeks pregnant I went to her home to capture her pregnancy with 3 baby boys. I was so amazed at how well she was doing….she was very tired and slowing down but doing so incredibly well and was so happy and excited. We decided to do the photos at her home since she’d been having lots of contractions and a few trips to L&D and we just thought it would be best if she didn’t have to leave her home. Our session was very relaxed and laid back; just how I like ‘em.

A few weeks later, at not quite 34 weeks, Lindsay delivered her 3 healthy boys. What a miracle! For now…here are a few of my favorites from Lindsay and Spencer’s session.

One of the prettiest babies ever….I couldn’t believe all of his blonde hair. He was so good. Isn’t Big Sister beautiful? Enjoy.

We’ve had a face lift!  I have been wanting a change for awhile but wasn’t sure which way to go….I am in incredibly indecisive person and am always a bit nervous about change.  Last night a dear friend and I sat down and discussed what I envisioned and this new look is what she came up with for me.  I LOVE IT.  I’m so excited about these little changes and think it totally fits the style and feel that my photos have evolved into.

With that said, I thought it fitting that I should blog Miss Etta….who is the cherished little girl of my friend, Emily.  Emily is an extremely talented designer and photographer who will soon be moving to Orlando Florida to follow her hubby’s job and school and we will miss this family dearly.  My kids last night were in tears over them moving.

Summer sessions are booking up fast, I don’t have much availability left so please contact me as soon as possible if you’re thinking of scheduling.  Maternity and newborn clients need to book early as well so that I can block off time needed to complete these sessions.

A week and a half ago, I got a voicemail from Stephanie, who was just slightly overdue with baby Ethan, calmly stating that her water just broke.  I excitedly ran out to Justin, informing him that I would be leaving soon, to photograph the birth of Stephanie and Mike’s third child.  We began to make plans and arrangements for the children, in case I was not to be back home yet in the morning by the time it was ready to get Ava on the bus.

I called Stephanie back and spoke with Mike, her husband who said nothing much was happening and he would let me know when they were headed to the hospital.  So I hung up, laid clothes out, gathered camera gear, and anxiously paced the floors.

Eventually I went to bed, but could hardly sleep, just knowing my phone would ring any second.

I woke the next morning at 7 panicked thinking I missed the birth, or God forbid, something was wrong and text-ed Stephanie…who promptly replied that labor had stalled and they would be starting pitocin soon.  I was so relieved to hear that everything was okay but a bit anxious for her to get the ball rolling, I mean seriously!  (totally KIDDING here )

Finally around 2:30 that afternoon I got the call to come.  I quietly took photos of Stephanie laboring, who–by the way–is amazing.  She not once had any pain medication and bore right through those pitocin contractions like a champion, so proud of her!  I helped when I was needed but I mostly tried to stay out of the way.  Stephanie’s husband Mike, his sister, and a doula all helped Steph when needed. It was such a nice, quiet, intimate birth and everything about it was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful and awe-some.  I feel so privileged for being invited to record those moments.  Baby Ethan was born just before 6 pm, almost 25 hours after Stephanie’s water broke.  He was perfect in every way.

Here is the promised baby Ethan post!  Isn’t he beautiful?  As I was getting these ready for this post, my heart just swelled up and melted into a puddle.  Those squishy baby lips and yawns SO make me want to do it all over again. I miss those days when they are so fresh <3  Ethan joins 2 big brothers and some of my absolute fav’s out of this session are of all three boys together.  Mama Nicole is for sure the princess of the house!

Saturday I went to the home of this brand new baby boy and spent some time with him and his lovely family. Baby E is all boy and is just as handsome as his two older brothers.  I will be posting more soon.  Nicole…enjoy your preview of your beautiful boy!

Ellison’s mama and daddy are dear friends of ours and it was such an honor to be able to photograph her brand new sweetness.  She was so tiny, only 6 pounds!
