My Sweetpea and Company | Toledo Commercial Photographer

A few weeks ago Ava and I had the chance to work with Lisa, owner and creator of My Sweetpea and Company.  I was so excited when she contacted us because we just love her bows and hats!  She produces some VERY good quality stuff, and Ava was THRILLED to model Lisa’s new product—the bottlecap necklace!

Please head on over and check her out at http://www.mysweetpeaandcompany.com (sorry, the html code isn’t working tonight!) and let her know that I sent you!

And some photos just for me…..how did she get to be so big?  Her beauty inside and outside just steals my breath away. ?

Catching Up | Toledo Children’s Photographer

I still have a ton of sessions to blog from 2009 so I thought I’d take one off the list. :)  Life is crazy, as usual, especially when you have two small kids. :)  We have been battling the sickies and then pink eye, yuck!  I have never had pink eye…that is until last week.  It is the WORST!  No contacts for a week for me!  I’m completely blind and my best friend jokes that we could go and burn ants with my glasses with the sun.  Except I don’t think she’s joking. ;)

Anyway, we are all healthy now, so I think we’ll hole up  here in the house until the weather warms up. ;)

I have so much to share, including some new designs that my kiddos have modeled for a great clothing company, so stay tuned!

Until then…..meet the D family. :)  You might recognize these pretty kids from an urban session we did last year.

The oldest here was telling me all about how his dad works on bones at work ;)

Grandma and Grandpa wanted some family photos….and I love how they turned out. (Even if middle “N” was D-O-N-E at this point, LOL!)

He’s happier here :)

Little “L”…she was the big “1″!

We have LOTS of fun on our sessions!!!!!! :)

Pretty Baby

I puffy heart this one:

Thanks so much D family….love spending time with you all!

{ Family of 4 } | Michigan Family Photographer

These are some of my favorite people in the world.  Derrick is my cousin and is 2 years older than me.  We were pretty inseparable while growing up and we are still pretty close.  Our families of 4 spend a LOT of time together when we are back “home”.  He and his wife Cari are some of our very closest friends and I love them. <3 <3

Here is their gorgeous family:

Ava and Britton just adore these boys……and I’m pretty sure the feeling is mutual

One of my fav’s….they are so good together

This is Chase…him and his mom are just alike :D and he is way too smart for his own good, LOL!

This is Tyler…he is very sweet and I swear has almost no teeth left in his head right now, I am truly amazed at how he even eats, LOL!  The tooth fairy has been super busy lately, LOL!

Cari is so beautiful <3 <3  (and Derrick isn’t too bad either but that’s weird since he’s my cousin) ;)

The boys were some of my easiest subjects, they did whatever I asked and even posed themselves at times.

We don’t see them nearly enough but I’m very excited because we’re headed north in two more days, and I’m hoping we can make time to spend with them!!!  Love you guys so much!

Christmas Quads! | Toledo Children’s Photographer

WOW!  I am severely behind on my blogging, aren’t I?  I am so sorry, I am going to attempt to getting caught up on posting pictures.  I have been so busy that I wanted to make sure my clients needs were taken care of promptly and get those galleries up as soon as I could.  So now I am going to post those galleries.  :)

This mini session was the SWEETEST set of  quadruplets I have ever met.  Okay so I have never met quads before but I can bet they are really the sweetest.  ;)  Such nice and polite kids and mom is a saint. I met them through another client-turned-friend….Sara, thank you!  I’m gong to keep each post short on words so that I can get to posting the important stuff. ;)  Enjoy!

{Orchard Girls} | Toledo Children’s Photographer

I recently had the absolutely awesome PLEASURE of meeting up with Nikki and her two girly girls.  She had them dressed so stinkin cute, and we ran around the orchard stomping on rotten apples, slipping and sliding, and taking a moment or two here or there to snap a photo. :)  By the time we were done, those girls smelled very strongly of fermented apples, LOL!  I think they had a lot of fun though. :D  Not sure if Mom was worried that we got any good ones…but I think we got our share ;)

{ Grace and the beach… } Toledo Children’s Photograner

Whoo Hoo!  It’s been awhile, hasn’t it?  I have been SUPER busy (story of my LIFE!) wrapping up the end of summer  with short vacations, sessions and my little girl starting kindergarten.  I can’t believe my little girl is in school!  That has been very for us.  Pictures of THAT to come soon.  BUT…first things first…

Meet Grace.  Grace’s mama arranged for me to do pictures of Grace and her grandparents…all the way from England.  I feel honored that she found me all the way over there! :D  This time is so special for this little girl, getting spoiled by her grandma and grandpa.  What an awesome family they are, you can see the love they have for each other and for Miss Grace, and hear it in their voices when they talked of Grace’s mama.  I’m so glad I got to be a part of this brief time in their lives!

Look at that laugh!!

I {heart} this…

Grandma and Grandpa also got some shots of themselves….such a great looking couple!  And TALL!  I felt like a midget next to them, I’ve always wished I was taller! :)

This was the very first time little girl had touched the sand.  <3 <3

The light was gorgeous that evening!

My fav <3

W family…thanks so much, I am so glad to finally have met you!!!  There is MUCH MUCH more to come! :)

{ Sister Sweetly } Toledo Family Photographer

I don’t see these girls as much as I wish I did….these three are my cousins that live up north, and we FINALLY got together to do a sister’s session as a surprise for their mom for her birthday.  We drove back behind our grandparent’s house by the river and did the pictures there and I LOVE how they turned out, the lighting was just gorgeous, and so were my subjects. :D

C is going back to college this fall, H is starting college this fall and I can’t believe how big E is, she has grown up so much in the past year!  As I was going through these photos I couldn’t believe how much H and E (the blondies) look like their mama!!!  C looks just like her daddy! ;)

Love you girls!!
Enjoy! :)

{ Party of 3 } Toledo Children’s Photographer

I recently had a session with Miss Lauren, who toted along her mom and dad along for some family pictures.  Meeting Lauren was SUCH a delight, she is one of THE most mature and precocious little 3 year olds I have ever met, she is just PRECIOUS!!!!  I loved every minute of being with her!!!  Mom and Dad were pretty awesome too :D  Miss L told me when she met me exactly how she was going to smile, she had me cracking up the whole session. :)

Meet Lauren….isn’t she a DOLL!?!?

Her outfit was exactly my style!!!  A hat and a TON of color, I LOVE!!!!  (and a tutu ;) )

And this is Lauren’s family….you can see how she got her good lucks, huh?  Aren’t they all stunning?

Seriously….gor-GEOUS!

My fav…

I love this, little L was pretending like she was sleeping and it made such a sweet shot…

The light was AWESOME that night!!

Love this too! <3

Thanks for being patient with me guys!

**I have been on vacation for 10 days, so it is taking me a day or two to get my bearings back, LOL!  We had a great time, we celebrated Britton’s 2nd birthday and my grandpa’s 80th birthday…all in the same week!  I took a lot of pictures and will be back this week to share!  It is so great to go and spend so much time with my family, but I did miss my hubby and am glad to be back in my own bed. :D

{color!} Toledo Children’s Photographer

This is going to be a super long post tonight…..to make up for my lack of blogging for the past week :) Well we are home!  We took off over a week ago and went to our cottage to spend the week….let me tell ya, I was sooo excited to go, I had visions of sitting on the dock on the lake all day every day and doing absolutely NOTHING.  Isn’t it funny how things don’t go as planned?  The weather was terrible….soooo not summer weather!  Cold…in the 60’s and it POURED half of the time we were there.  Oh my goodness, not the vacation I envisioned at all. The kids get so out of their element even after a weekend up there, they end up being train wrecks with lack of sleep and naps, and out of their routine.  I’m sure the neighbors were glad to see us go late Friday night, LOL!  On the other hand….I got to spend some great quality time with family that I don’t see much….we went an evening at my Dad’s one night, with my grandparent’s another night, we had a late night cookout with my favorite cousin and his wife and their kids one night, my favorite uncle helped Justin with finishing up the roof, I spent some time with my mom and the kids saw lot’s of their Nana…..

The best part was going out on the boat…you see I grew up around water all of my life and my mom had a boat since I was around 15 or so, but my uncle has always had one so I have spent a lot of time on one.  My mom no longer has hers, but my uncle took Ava and I and my cousin and her two kids out and we had a ball.  It was the only nice day we had…the highlight for me was when I strapped some water skis on and decided to give it a go.  Believe it or not, I have never attempted to water ski, I was always too scared, too embarrassed.  Funny how all those inhibitions can go away with age, eh? :)   I popped up my first try (and second, third, fourth….) and skiied maybe…oh, 15 feet or so.  HA!  I did it over and over again and finally got tired.  I was so darn proud of myself :D   And OMG was I sore the next day, LOL!

It was so good to get away though, even with the nasty weather.  I am hoping to get up there every weekend for the rest of the summer and make use of our cottage.

I had messages on my cell phone when we got home early yesterday morning and I will return them all tomorrow (Monday).  I promise I am not ignoring you!

Now on to pictures of the sneak peek I posted over a week ago…..

My favorite part of my job is the people that I meet.  I get to meet the most wonderful people, and learn about their lives and share a bit of mine as well.  I have made some great friends this way and I look forward to making many more.  I stayed and chatted with Sarah after our session for a long while and came away feeling like I have made a friend….it’s such a great feeling. :)

This session was THE most fun session I have ever done!  Sisters commissioned me to photograph their kids in Waterville, on Grandma and Grandpa’s 10 acres.  I could have stayed there forever. :)   Such an awesome, friendly family and gorgeous kiddos!  The color on these pictures just kill me, I had so much fun with these.  And now on to Q, L and A!

Mom was well into her 3rd trimester with a baby girl….isn’t she gorgeous?

Look at those eyes!  They are sooo amazing!

So photogenic, Miss L is.  She is such a sweet, sweet dolly.
