This is going to be a super long post tonight…..to make up for my lack of blogging for the past week
Well we are home! We took off over a week ago and went to our cottage to spend the week….let me tell ya, I was sooo excited to go, I had visions of sitting on the dock on the lake all day every day and doing absolutely NOTHING. Isn’t it funny how things don’t go as planned? The weather was terrible….soooo not summer weather! Cold…in the 60′s and it POURED half of the time we were there. Oh my goodness, not the vacation I envisioned at all. The kids get so out of their element even after a weekend up there, they end up being train wrecks with lack of sleep and naps, and out of their routine. I’m sure the neighbors were glad to see us go late Friday night, LOL! On the other hand….I got to spend some great quality time with family that I don’t see much….we went an evening at my Dad’s one night, with my grandparent’s another night, we had a late night cookout with my favorite cousin and his wife and their kids one night, my favorite uncle helped Justin with finishing up the roof, I spent some time with my mom and the kids saw lot’s of their Nana…..
The best part was going out on the boat…you see I grew up around water all of my life and my mom had a boat since I was around 15 or so, but my uncle has always had one so I have spent a lot of time on one. My mom no longer has hers, but my uncle took Ava and I and my cousin and her two kids out and we had a ball. It was the only nice day we had…the highlight for me was when I strapped some water skis on and decided to give it a go. Believe it or not, I have never attempted to water ski, I was always too scared, too embarrassed. Funny how all those inhibitions can go away with age, eh?
I popped up my first try (and second, third, fourth….) and skiied maybe…oh, 15 feet or so. HA! I did it over and over again and finally got tired. I was so darn proud of myself
And OMG was I sore the next day, LOL!
It was so good to get away though, even with the nasty weather. I am hoping to get up there every weekend for the rest of the summer and make use of our cottage.
I had messages on my cell phone when we got home early yesterday morning and I will return them all tomorrow (Monday). I promise I am not ignoring you!
Now on to pictures of the sneak peek I posted over a week ago…..
My favorite part of my job is the people that I meet. I get to meet the most wonderful people, and learn about their lives and share a bit of mine as well. I have made some great friends this way and I look forward to making many more. I stayed and chatted with Sarah after our session for a long while and came away feeling like I have made a friend….it’s such a great feeling.
This session was THE most fun session I have ever done! Sisters commissioned me to photograph their kids in Waterville, on Grandma and Grandpa’s 10 acres. I could have stayed there forever.
Such an awesome, friendly family and gorgeous kiddos! The color on these pictures just kill me, I had so much fun with these. And now on to Q, L and A!

Mom was well into her 3rd trimester with a baby girl….isn’t she gorgeous?

Look at those eyes! They are sooo amazing!

So photogenic, Miss L is. She is such a sweet, sweet dolly.
